As visual as it is visceral, The Reverend Screaming Fingers' music has been described as “Morricone composing surf music on laudanum…performed at a secret opium den in the basement of CBGB’s."
From solo guitar to full band ensemble, the music provides a front seat view to the
soundscape ahead, down whatever road traveled, from the morning light to the end of the world. The Rev's Music for Driving and Film material, influenced as much by traversing vast distances as fleeting moments on the silver screen, serves as a base for further exploration and brings a healthy dose of improvisation into its performance.
The Reverend Screaming Fingers is:
Lucio Menegon (guitar) - Lucio's work encompasses melodic composition, avant-garde improvisation, ambient soundscape, noise, weird pop, film soundtrack and experimental rock. His style is rooted in primitive Americana and punk, with extended technique and forays into minimalist textural spaces informing a fusion of traditional song structure and abstract modern soundscape.
He has collaborated with a gaggle of creative artists including Myshkin Warbler, Wally Ingram, Victoria Williams, Danny Frankel, Lisa Mednick Powell, Richard Lainhart, Amy
Denio, Glenn Branca, Rhys Chatham, Moe! Staiano and Kim Boekbinder.
Janie Cowan (upright bass) - Aside from a strong technical foundation, fat tone and deep feel of rhythm, Janie possesses the rare ability to adapt to any musical situation and bring the ensemble to a new cohesive level. Janie finds herself touring nationally and internationally with an impressive array of musicians from different backgrounds such as
Nefeshâs, Bob Hoffnar and Go: Organic Orchestra.
John Hanes (drums) - John has been living and drumming in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1977. Some of a long list of folks he's played with include Chrome, Etta James, Grizzly Man soundtrack, Floyd Dixon, Henry Kaiser and Victor Krummenacher.
Wil Hendricks (guitar, piano, organ) - Wil is a super-solid musician who has playing steadily in the SF Bay area for many years. He has toured and performed with the likes of Califone, Lofty Pillars, Val Esway, Mississippi Mike and Invisible Cities.
