The Town Howlers

Please join us for an Earth Day Bluegrass Concert in support of The March For Science, with Windy Hill and The Town Howlers. All band proceeds will be donated to this important cause (see below for more info).

Windy Hill
It's immediately evident at a Windy Hill show that the band is excited about bluegrass music and has big fun picking and singing. They're becoming increasingly well-known – and are winning awards – for their entertaining performances. With their third album just completed, the group plays frequently around Northern California and recently performed tributes to late bluegrass giants Bill Monroe and James King. Windy Hill includes Ryan Breen (banjo & vocals), Thomas Wille (Guitar & Vocals), Kyle McCabe (standup bass), and Brandon Godman (fiddle).

The Town Howlers
Disciples of the godfathers of bluegrass, the Town Howlers deliver their high-lonesome bluegrass sound all over Northern California and beyond. The band's repertoire ranges from the bluegrass classics of Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs, to original tunes that stay true to that classic mountain style. The Town Howlers are John McKelvy (guitar and vocals), Michael Small (banjo & vocals), Rowan McCallister (mandolin & vocals), Matt Crimp (fiddle & vocals), and Mike Gubman (upright bass).

The March For Science
ON APRIL 22, 2017, WE WALK OUT OF THE LAB AND INTO THE STREETS.
The March for Science is a celebration of our passion for science and a call to support and safeguard the scientific community. Recent policy changes have caused heightened worry among scientists, and the incredible and immediate outpouring of support has made clear that these concerns are also shared by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The mischaracterization of science as a partisan issue, which has given policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter. It is time for people who support scientific research and evidence-based policies to take a public stand and be counted.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $15-$20, sliding scale, at the door. Advance tickets are available at the link below. Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash only at the door (ATMs are nearby).

The Back Room is an all-ages, BYOB (for those 21+) space, dedicated to (mostly) acoustic music of all kinds. You are welcome to bring your own adult beverage with no additional corkage fee. If you need more information, or have any questions, please call us: #510-654-3808. Thank you for your support!
